


Essilor International is the world's leading manufacturer
of ophthalmic lenses, along with ophthalmic optical
equipment; it was the pioneer in development of lenses
and lens coatings to cater for a multitude of users.
Essilor created Varilux which is the world's first
progressive lens. It corrects presbyopia which is
a progressively diminished ability to focus on near
objects; these lenses allow the wearer to get clear
vision. Its activities are largely focused on research
and development. It is the world's largest manufacturer
of ophthalmic lenses, dominating the market on every
continent, and Europe's fourth-largest medical equipment
firm.
Essilor wanted to penetrate the Singapore optical
scene with a new lens product, Myopilux. Seeing that
there was an increase in children having myopia due
to excessive near vision activities like reading and
study. Myopilux was thus created to combat Myopia,
or short-sightedness.


Dream Solutions has had served Essilor for more than
10years, through the years Dream Solutions has developed
an acute understanding of Essilors specific needs
and range of products. When they wanted to launch
Myopilux they gave us free creative reign over the
project.
It was because of that we were able to see the project
through from the conceptualization of the brand image
through the launch, and finally through to the various
consumer touch points like the POSM material and packaging.
Essilors trade partners has contributed to Essilor's
success over its competitors. Essilor shares a unique
synergic relationship with its trade partners where
both parties continually work to bring value to the
other. With the launch of the Myopilux range of lenses
we saw an opportunity for Essilor and its trade partners
to not only bring monetary value to each other but
to also bring value to the consumers they serve.
We identified that by winning the trade partners
over would do more good than a campaign aimed as consumers
we decided to focus the launch of the Myopilux lens
on Essilor's trade partners.

Myopilux is a chance for Essilor and its trade partners
go beyond sales for monetary gains but rather a social
responsibility to reduce myopia amongst kids. We believe
by tagging on a social cause was a great way to encourage
Essilors trade partners to push sales for the Myopilux
lenses. The idea was for the trade partners to see
themselves as more than just sales men but people
that by reducing Myopia amongst children helps them
fulfill their life goals or their dream.
Thus the campaign was aptly named “I have a
dream”.
We invited the trade partners for a breakfast launch
where they were educated on the product features of
the Myopilux lens and were also encouraged to be involved
in the fight against Myopia.
